Places to cover in udaipur in 3 days

Well, to start with, Traveling is my hobby, So whenever i get some time, i just wanted to pack my bag and go out somewhere.

I got chance to go to Udaipur in jan 2016.

How to go ?

The best way to go is to take a train from Delhi.
There are two trains Chetak and Malwa  which reaches to Udaipur in  morning.
i boarded  Chetak, however,my train got late, so i reached there at around 10 am.

Hotel:

i booked with OYO  room , hotel room was nice, it was 3 km from Fatehsagar lake and 3-4 km from Pichola  , however, i would suggest, try to get a hotel near pichola lake ,  in case  if you don't get it, that's fine, Udaipur is not a very big city and you wont be in any loss.

Day 1 places you can visit :

when i reached udaipur a my half-day was almost gone.
i talked to the local people about the places i can visit today, internet is confusing, so i always prefer to talk to locals.
i opted to go to for city palace which is a palace + museum. City palace is beautiful with rich ancient history about Rana pratap clan.
The view of pichola lake , from the city palace is magnificent. here are some pics of palace and lake.
City Palace

Pichola lake : View from city palace

when i was done with palace and museum , i had to choose between going to pichola lake and bagore ki haweli.
it was around 6 in the evening and i did not wanted to cover the pichola lake in hurry, so i descided to go to bagore ki haweli.
this haweli is famous for rajasthani cultural performances ,shows starts from 7 , so try to be at ticket counter around 6, otherwise  you could be in a very long queue for ticket.

the cultural performance in bagore ki haweli is worth a watch , try to sit in area facing stage in front.

there is a famous temple (Jagdish temple) ,near to bagore ki haweli , it is famous for its architecture, i briefly visited it.

Day 2 :

on the next day i decided to go to famous haldighati.
its the place where famous battle between rana pratap and akbar forces were held, this place have a museum   which is not big but unique. Then there is a statue of Rana Pratap on some height from where you can see the Aravali ranges very clearly.
There is a Chetak smark near by, its is built in memory of famous chetak horse, i liked this place as it was very peaceful and clean.
if you come by  cab to haldighati they will charge you around 2000 rs , however if you go by Auto it will take around 1200 and also cover mansoon palace as well.

After the haldi ghati visit i went to mansoon palace , which is famous for its sunset , however  apart from the sunset i was impressed with the location of this palace, its on a top of  a hill from where you can see the whole of udaipur.
this place is a good for a descent evening outing.

there are long queue for returning  if you dont have a car you have to be dependent on the cab provided by the government , so have patience while going and returning to monsoon palace.
On return from monsoon palace, going to Fataehsagar lake could be an option, its the centre point for udaipur evening life.

Day 3

Since we had only brief visit of fatehsagar lake on day 2, we  descided to cover it again on day 3. you can go to nehru park, which is situated  in mid of lake, the boat price is very cheap.
just confirm if you are trying to do it in evening, it closes around 6.
After fatehsagar we visited rani ka bada , which is a like a park however its been said that the water comes to this park from fatehsagar lake and fountains there do not require a pump to sprinkle water and the engineers of that time used gravity to do that.
dnt know how much true it is

we descided to cover our last task in the evening i.e. boating in pichola lake when sun is slowly going down. i reached pichola around 5 and waited for 45 minutes just to get a boat when the sun is slowly going down. i took a boat around 5:45 and looks like my wait did nt get in vein and i managed to click some very beautiful pics.

If you have some more time, you  can take rs 30 ticket to watch the palace lighting, and its more than worth.

Triund Trek : Why you should be careful and prepared for it?

I was planning to go to Triund since last year, but was able to fulfill my wish only on 27th may 2016. Like anyone else, I went through lots of blogs and found that Triund trek is a fairly easy trek, only the last stretch is bit tough.so I was quite relax and excited for my first solo trek. Now, after completing this trek, my opinion differs from others. Let's start with: How to Go? Delhi > Macleodganj : Either take HRTC(Himachal Road Trasnport Corporation) bus or go by train till pathankot and then take a bus. i would suggest to take rest in macleodganj on the day you reach there, so that you can start with fresh legs next morning. Towards Triund... Start by Macleodganj>Dharmkot 2.5 km Dharmkot > galu Devi temple 1.5 km approx. Took me around two hours to reach galu devi My suggestion Take a cab up to Galu devi, because if you start trekking from McLeodganj itself, you soon would find yourself exhausted till reaching galu devi, a...
